Framing the Fish Farmers
I don't often send out an issue mid-month, but every now and then enough stuff happens that makes it worthwhile.
I wanted to draw your attention to "Framing the Fish Farmers: The Impact of Activists on Media and Public Opinion about the Aquaculture Industry." You'll recognize the author's name. The paper was released today.
This particular paper is a light read at just under 30 pages in length, highlighting the foibles of activist groups regarding the fish-farming industry.
I was commissioned by AIMS - The Atlantic Institute for Market Studies - to examine the issue. And just for the record, I have no aquaculture clients.
And in the meantime:
This story and other stuff of general interest are continually highlighted in the brand new "Defending Good Science" blog.
Whether it's serious, light-hearted or just plain bizarre, check it out for a look at the issues of the day, as they happen. There's a section under every post for comments - please take advantage of it.
